IMS 2017 was a tremendous experience, not just due to the sun drenched beaches of Waikiki, the aloha spirit of the north shore, and the verdant mountains that provide a stunning backdrop to Oahu, but also the opportunity to connect with the brightest minds in the world of RF, microwave, and millimeter wave engineering. Customers past, present, and (fingers crossed!) future stopped by our booth in the exhibition hall to see our latest products and get updates on former colleagues and associates. Hailing from Australia, Europe, Africa, and the Americas, (Antarctica was poorly represented) IMS Hawaii was truly an international microwave symposium, emphasizing the extensive reach of our flourishing industry. A personal highlight from the week was running into my research partner from UCLA while wandering the streets of Waikiki.
From the immersion in microwave geniuses to the beaches, hiking, surfing, loko mocos, udon (Marukame, holla!) IMS 2017 was a success for EM Research. A special shout out to my co-workers Nick and Lupe who helped prove that three engineers can handle a marketing show and ride some killer waves with minimal injury.
