When a customer needed a transceiver link that could operate under extreme high altitude conditions, we developed a solution that delivered results. The fully custom TCVR product included transmit and receive modules designed to operate in an airborne environment under the rigors of high altitude pressure and temperature. We worked in close partnership with the customer to develop this proof-of-concept system. By leveraging the most advanced technologies, we developed a cutting-edge solution in a compact package.
Many legacy cavity-tuned oscillators have been discontinued, obsoleted or no longer supported by original equipment manufacturers. When a customer needed a drop-in replacement for defunct analog oscillator, we designed a custom solution that improved overall performance of the microwave radio (T1/E1). The MRO product uses digital-precision serial control for improved accuracy and reliability of field tuned device over the previous coarse tuning analog dial. We worked closely with the customer to design a complete drop-in solution that improved function, extended the life of the system, and added value.
Recently, a customer needed a fully custom RF switch network and low noise amplifier for a shipboard application. We designed a durable, compact unit consisting of a two stage RF switch network and 5-bit attenuator, optimized for maximum electrical performance, maximum physical and electrical durability, and maximum operational lifetime. The two stage RF switch network allowed the user to control each of three external RF input signals passing through a programmable attenuator and LNA. We configured the switches to provide a break-before-make characteristic to guarantee a blanking of the RF between each change in selected RF input. The 5-bit digitally programmable attenuator allowed the user to set any attenuation value from 0 to 31 dB. The internal LNA was carefully selected and optimized for low noise figure, high gain, and minimum signal distortion.
